In 2008, the Workplace Conservation Leadership Award category was added to the BC Hydro Power Smart Excellence Awards roster to recognize individuals who have shown leadership by instilling a conservation ethic within their organization. These individuals embody a conservation philosophy, even though their main role in a commercial, industrial, or government organization is not energy management.
Eligibility for Nomination
Eligible 2009 nominees must work for an organization located within British Columbia. They must be employees of the organization - not consultants - who have been involved with an energy conservation campaign within the January to December 2008 calendar year.
